It Takes All of Us
For White Ribbon Day 2026, Domestic Abuse Alliance is proud to launch Together We Mend – a collaborative community art installation created in partnership with artist and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) campaigner Holly Ringrose.
Rooted in the White Ribbon Day 2026 theme, “It Takes All of Us”, this project is a reminder that ending violence against women and girls is a collective responsibility. Through creativity, conversation and community action, Together We Mend invites people to stand in solidarity with survivors and help break the silence surrounding abuse.
About the Campaign
At the heart of the installation is a hand-crocheted blanket featuring the iconic white ribbon motif – carefully stitched by Holly Ringrose over the course of the campaign.
Each stitch symbolises the slow, complex, and deeply personal process of rebuilding a life after trauma. Together, the blanket represents warmth, safety, healing and hope.
The project also reflects the power of collective action. Through public participation and fundraising, supporters across the community will contribute to the creation of the blanket, demonstrating that preventing abuse and supporting survivors takes all of us.
This campaign continues Holly Ringrose’s longstanding support for Domestic Abuse Alliance. In 2021, Holly’s poignant series of Unfinished Portraits: Women’s Lives Cut Short was projected onto the St Albans Clock Tower on White Ribbon Day, attracting widespread community attention and earning recognition from the Mayor of St Albans.
Today, Holly continues her work as an ambassador for Domestic Abuse Alliance, using art to encourage conversation, reflection, and action around domestic abuse and gender-based violence.
Sponsor a Row
Over the summer months leading up to White Ribbon Day 2026, supporters are invited to Sponsor a Row of the blanket through a community fundraising initiative.
For a minimum donation of £5, donors will receive a limited-edition handmade crochet white ribbon pin, individually created by Holly Ringrose.
Only 200 pins will be made – representing the 200 rows of the final blanket.
All proceeds from the campaign will be donated by Domestic Abuse Alliance to White Ribbon UK to support their work to raise awareness of and prevent violence against women and girls.
Each pin is available for a minimum donation of £5. Please note that the additional £0.45 displayed at checkout is eBay’s Buyer Protection fee, which is charged by the platform and is not part of your donation.
If you would like to provide additional support, you’re very welcome to purchase more than one pin. Every pin purchased helps support the Together We Mend campaign, with all proceeds from the pins being donated to White Ribbon UK.

Installation Dates & Location
The completed Together We Mend blanket installation will be exhibited at St Albans Museum + Gallery from 25 November to 10 December 2026.
The exhibition will be unveiled on White Ribbon Day (25 November 2026) and remain on display throughout the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
Located in the heart of St Albans – our hometown – the Museum provides a meaningful civic and cultural setting for this community-led installation.
Through art, conversation and collective participation, the installation aims to encourage reflection on the impact of domestic abuse, promote awareness around violence against women and girls, and highlight the importance of standing together in support of survivors.
After the Installation
Once the exhibition concludes, the blanket will be donated privately to a local women’s refuge.
This final step reflects the purpose at the centre of Together We Mend – transforming collective support into something tangible that offers warmth, comfort, and care to women rebuilding their lives after abuse.
