Domestic Abuse (DA) Alliance has announced the launch of “Together We Mend”, a powerful new fundraising campaign in support of White Ribbon UK, ahead of White Ribbon Day 2026 (25 November).
Inspired by this year’s White Ribbon Day theme, “It Takes All of Us,” the “Together We Mend” campaign brings together art, community action and fundraising to raise awareness of violence against women and girls (VAWG) while supporting survivors.
At the heart of the initiative is a collaborative art installation created by DA Alliance in partnership with artist and VAWG campaigner Holly Ringrose. The installation will feature a hand-crocheted blanket incorporating the iconic white ribbon symbol – a globally recognised emblem of ending male violence against women.
Each stitch in the blanket represents the complex and deeply personal journey of recovery after abuse. As the piece grows, through community participation, it becomes a collective symbol of healing, solidarity and hope.
A Community Fundraising Initiative
Running throughout summer and into autumn 2026, the “Together We Mend” campaign invites supporters across the UK to take part through a “Sponsor a Row” fundraising initiative.

- In exchange, supporters receive a limited-edition crochet white ribbon pin, handmade by Holly Ringrose.
- Only 200 pins will be produced, representing the 200 rows of the blanket.
All proceeds from the campaign will be donated by DA Alliance to White Ribbon UK to support its work engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls.
Public Exhibition in St Albans
The completed crochet blanket will be unveiled on White Ribbon Day (25 November 2026) and exhibited at St Albans Museum + Gallery until 10 December 2026, coinciding with the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Located in Domestic Abuse Alliance’s hometown, the exhibition at St Albans Museum + Gallery, located in the historic Town Hall, offers a meaningful civic space for reflection, conversation and education. Visitors will be encouraged to engage with the issue of domestic abuse and consider their role in creating positive and long-lasting change.

Following the exhibition, the blanket will be privately donated to a local women’s refuge, ensuring the project leaves a lasting, tangible legacy of comfort and care for survivors rebuilding their lives.
Why This Campaign Matters
Domestic abuse and violence against women and girls affect millions across the UK. DA Alliance works to improve access to legal protection and safety through its WEPROTECT referral service and partnerships across policing, legal, healthcare, and community sectors.

Building on a Legacy of Art and Activism
The project continues Holly Ringrose’s longstanding collaboration with Domestic Abuse Alliance. In 2021, Holly’s acclaimed series “Unfinished Portraits: Women’s Lives Cut Short” was projected onto the St Albans Clock Tower for White Ribbon Day, earning recognition from the local community and civic leaders.
Through Together We Mend, Holly once again uses art as a catalyst to spark conversation, inspire reflection and drive action on domestic abuse and gender-based violence.
